Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary

The Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary is a nonprofit volunteer organization comprised of over 200 members. The auxiliary has branches in Chatham/Harwich and Orleans and operates the Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop in Hyannis. Its governing board consists of executive officers, chairs of the Chatham/Harwich branch, the Orleans branch and the Thrift Shop.

Fundraising

With over $9.6 million raised since its inception, the auxiliary’s fundraising is an ongoing and vitally important function. Monies raised help Cape Cod Hospital build new facilities, enhance existing programs and purchase equipment.

Branch meetings include featured speakers on local topics of interest, planning or working on fundraising projects and social lunches. Some members also enjoy working together to make hand-crafted items to comfort patients at Cape Cod Hospital.

Auxiliary Thrift Shop

The Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop, located at 690 Main Street (at the corner of Main and Stevens Street) in Hyannis, Massachusetts, is one of the main fundraising “branches” of the auxiliary. The shop is dependent solely on donations from the public and it’s truly a community effort. The shop also provides an opportunity for the public to obtain first-quality merchandise at a reasonable price.

The Thrift Shop welcomes your gently worn women’s and men’s clothing, handbags, shoes, jewelry, artwork and household items that are in good condition for resale. Due to limited space, only small furniture and small working appliances can be accepted.

The shop is open 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Donations can be dropped off at the back of the building at the Steven’s Street gated entrance during Thrift Shop hours. A volunteer will greet you.

Your donations are sold in the shop and proceeds go directly to support Cape Cod Hospital.

Volunteers are always needed and are greatly appreciated. It is a wonderful place to meet new friends and have fun while serving the hospital.

Thank you for your donations and thank you for supporting Cape Cod Hospital!

Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary — Orleans Branch

The Orleans Branch of the Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary was organized by 25 women in 1968. It has since grown to over 100 members from Orleans, Brewster and Eastham. All are welcome to join us in promoting and expanding Cape Cod Hospital facilities and services to the highest quality through volunteerism and philanthropy.

Our monthly programs will entertain and inform as you make new friends. Meetings are held at 10:45 a.m. on the first Tuesday of the month at the Federated Church in Orleans.

The Auxiliary’s Holly Berry Bazaar is held every two years at the Nauset Regional Middle School and is a favorite Cape Cod event. The Auxilians also raise funds through bake sales, card and game days, raffles and participation in the annual Hydrangea Festival.

Every year, the Auxiliary members make hundreds of handmade puppets for children at Cape Cod Hospital.
