Billing, Payments & Insurance
As a service to our patients, we will bill most insurance plans for you. After we send the bill to your insurer, we wait about 45 to 60 days for payment.
Once your insurance company processes the claim, you will start receiving statements for any balance you owe. If we need more information to process your claim, you may receive a letter or statement from Cape Cod Healthcare. Before making a payment, compare your balance with the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) your insurance company sends you. If you have questions, call our Customer Service team at 1-866-809-0655.
Statements and Payments
- Your statement will arrive by mail, or you can choose paperless delivery through MyChart.
- Payments can be made through MyChart (for guests or registered users) or by calling customer service at 1-866-809-0655.
- We offer interest-free payment plans, which you can set up in MyChart or by calling customer service.
- Receive a 10% discount if payment is made in full within 15 days of receiving your first statement.
No Surprises Act: Your Protection from Unexpected Medical Bills
The No Surprises Act is a federal law that went into effect on January 1, 2022. It protects patients from certain unexpected medical bills, known as “surprise bills,” when they receive care from out-of-network providers.
You’re protected when you receive:
- Emergency services, including post-stabilization care, from an out-of-network hospital or an independent, freestanding emergency department.
- Non-emergency services from an out-of-network provider during a visit at an in-network hospital, outpatient department, critical access hospital or ambulatory surgical center.
- Air ambulance services
These protections apply to patients with group health plan coverage or individual health insurance.
The No Surprises Act does not apply to people covered only by government programs: Medicare (including Medicare Advantage), Medicaid (including Medicaid managed care plans), Children’s Health Insurance Program, Indian Health Service, Veterans Affairs and TRICARE.
