Cape Codders Come Home: Patrick J. Cahill, MD

Cape Codders Come Home: Patrick J. Cahill, MD

Having grown up on Cape Cod from the age of 10, Cape Cod Hospital infectious disease specialist Patrick J. Cahill, MD calls this region his true home. , He followed in his mother’s footsteps, graduating from Barnstable High School. But that’s not the only thing the two have in common.

“We’ve been pretty heavily rooted on the Cape,” said Dr. Cahill. “My mom had previously worked at the hospital as a nurse; she always had the best things to say about working here.”

After attending medical school, completing his rotations and going on to specialize in infectious disease, he credits perfect timing and fond Cape memories for bringing him back home.

“I really loved it when I came and interviewed (at Cape Cod Hospital). I knew basically a week or two after I interviewed that I wanted to come back up here.”
