How to request an appointment

A referral for our medical oncology or radiation oncology services at the Cancer Center is needed from another physician caring for you such as a surgeon or primary care physician. We are happy to walk you through the process and assist you. Please telephone the appropriate office.

Conveniently located in Hyannis MA, within the Cape Cod Hospital medical campus, the Davenport Mugar Cancer Center offers a complete spectrum of radiation oncology and medical oncology services alongside the most sophisticated technology equipment available anywhere in the country. With easy access to the hospital and convenient parking, Davenport Mugar Cancer Center delivers highly specialized medical services to the local community, including: Infusion (IV) Therapy, Hematology, Clinical Trials and more.

Preparing for your first visit

Once we’ve made your appointment, our team works together to prepare for your appointment with us. We want you to know what to do to be prepared as well.

You will receive an appointment reminder in the mail and we will also call you to confirm your appointment a few days prior. We will ask you to arrive 20 minutes prior to your appointment to allow time to meet with team members in preparation for your physician visit.


If you need assistance in getting here, we have resources available to assist you.

What to bring with you:

  • A picture ID and insurance cards
  • A list of all current medications
  • Copies of advance directives or healthcare proxy documents if you have them. If you do not have one, we are happy to assist you or you may download a copy and read more about these important documents and Cape Cod Healthcare’s Quality of Life Initiative

Parking and Valet

Complimentary valet parking is available at our Davenport Mugar Cancer Center. Reserved parking is available at our Clark Cancer Center. There is no tipping required.


A member of the Cape Cod Hospital Registration Office will call you prior to your appointment to gather or verify your insurance information. A member of our Financial Navigation team will also review your insurance coverage and will contact you with any questions. If you would like to speak with a Financial Navigator at any time, they can be reached through our main office number.

What to expect while you are here

A member of our Cancer Center scheduling team will greet you and complete needed forms and check in for your visit. A nurse or medical assistant will collect additional information about you and will prepare you for your visit with the doctor.

You should be prepared to spend about 90 minutes with us at your first visit.

The doctor will discuss potential options for treatment with you including:

Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy & Hormonal Therapy

Radiation Therapy & Radiosurgery
