Epic Project Careers – Cape Cod Healthcare's new Electronic Health Information System

Cape Cod Healthcare is implementing a new electronic health information system – Epic – across our entire healthcare system, which includes two hospitals and more than 100 facilities. As the leading provider of healthcare on Cape Cod, we chose the leading provider of health information technology, Epic, to create a great partnership. Together, we’ll be refining and standardizing our workflows and leveraging the best in clinical information technology to provide the highest quality of care possible to the community we serve.

We are looking for talented, bright, mission-driven individuals to join the Epic Project Team.

For our project kick-off, we need to fill more than 50 Epic positions requiring various levels of expertise in technical, business and clinical operations.

What you need to know

How long will the project last?

Implementation is expected to be a 15-16 month process and we anticipate a fall 2020 “go-live” date.

Are these temporary positions?

The positions currently posted are considered temporary for the duration of the implementation; however, many will turn into regular positions post “go-live,” providing continued support to the new system and related applications.

What if I don’t have any Epic experience?

While Epic experience is valued, it is not necessary. We will train otherwise-qualified candidates, provided they have other skills and clinical expertise that add value to the project.

What’s involved in training?

Some team members – not all – will be required to attend and successfully complete Epic certification training, located at the Epic headquarters in Wisconsin.  The training is anticipated to last from one to several weeks, depending on roles and assigned system applications.

What’s involved in the application process?

The application process will follow our standard recruitment process: All applicants will apply on-line through Cape Cod Healthcare’s Career portal. However, applicants for the Epic Project will be required to complete a couple of assessments that focus on logic skills and the ability to absorb and apply new information.

What if I have another job at CCHC but want to work on the Epic Project?

Employees selected for the Epic Project will be dedicated to the project full-time, and may be relied on to work extended hours around critical times of the project. Thus, it will not be possible for you to work on Epic and maintain your current job. If selected for the Epic Project, your current job will be backfilled and may be available for you to move back into after the project – or, you might find a long-term home on the permanent Epic Team, providing on-going service to the system and applications.
