Wound Care at
Cape Cod Healthcare

Many people live for years with wounds that won’t heal. Non-healing wounds are painful, disrupt personal and professional life and depending on the underlying cause, can threaten life and limb.

An infection, diabetes or lack of oxygen can disrupt your body’s normal wound recovery process. Expert wound care can help.

If your wound has not made progress in two weeks or has not totally healed in 30 days, you may need specialized care.

The physicians and nursing professionals at Cape Cod Healthcare’s Wound Services understand the challenge faced by individuals living with chronic wounds. Our two, state-of-the-art wound care centers are conveniently located in Bourne and Hyannis and Cape Cod Healthcare’s Visiting Nurses Association can provide treatment for patients at home with certified wound care nurses who follow your physician’s treatment plan.

Collaborative Approach

Our team approach allows our physicians, nurses and technicians work with the patient to assess your medical condition, identify the underlying cause of the wound and utilizing advanced therapies.

Collaboration among the physician, visiting nurse and family means an individualized treatment plan is developed, leading to coordinated care.

This comprehensive care includes referrals to specialists, diagnostic testing or nutritional counseling, when needed. Our patient-focused approach provides the education and support to help patients keep scheduled appointments and follow the doctor’s directions.

Together, we work to help wounds heal.
