Milestone Moment in Falmouth!

Milestone Moment in Falmouth!

On April 28, the Marine Lodge Masons hosted their 100th blood drive at John Wesley United Methodist Church—an extraordinary milestone in partnership with Cape Cod Healthcare. Since May 2014, these monthly drives have helped ensure a strong local blood supply for our neighbors, friends and loved ones.

“This is just another day at the office,” said longtime organizer Dick Wenderoth with a smile, who has led 93 of the 100 drives. “But it’s very rewarding that we can give back to Cape Cod Healthcare. It makes me feel good—especially when the blood is helping people right here in our own community.”

Fellow Mason and lead donor Scott Tynell, who gave his 53rd unit at the milestone event, has been a regular donor since the Masons’ blood drives began. The organization’s dedication reflects the Masons’ broader mission of service, generosity and giving back.

“It’s the gift that keeps on giving,” added Fred Corson. “Dick inspired me—he talks about the importance of donating all the time at the lodge.”
Donor Jim Tietje shared his personal reason for giving: “I was a blue baby, so I needed a total transfusion when I was born. I’ve been giving since college. Having a healthy blood supply is so important because it saves lives.”

Thank you, Marine Lodge Masons, for your decade-long commitment of giving back—one pint at a time.
