Cape Cod Healthcare Awards Community Benefits Grants to Support Health and Wellness Across Cape Cod

(Hyannis, MA – January 19, 2021) – Cape Cod Healthcare, through its Community Benefits initiative, has awarded $299,608 in grants in 2021 to non-profit organizations and programs across Cape Cod who work to improve the health and wellness of the Cape Cod community.

The mission of the Cape Cod Healthcare Community Benefits program is to help address the social determinants of health – needs that are beyond traditional medical care services – through support and partnerships with local human service and community agencies. Grants are provided Cape-wide to organizations that focus on nutrition, transportation, physical and behavioral health support and access to medical care.

These focus areas were identified by Cape Cod Healthcare Community Benefits in the Community Health Needs Assessment [PDF], a report based on extensive research of the critical health needs of those living on Cape Cod. By identifying these needs and the organizations working to support them locally, the Cape Cod Healthcare Community Benefits program has granted financial resources across a spectrum of agencies, creating collaborative partnerships to educate the community and support important initiatives.

“During a year in which COVID-19 has had such an impact on the health of our community, we believed it was important that all organizations that applied to Cape Cod Healthcare Community Benefits receive funding,” said Christopher Lawson, Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer at Cape Cod Healthcare. “These strategic partnerships have never been more important as we work together to serve the residents of Cape Cod.”

In 2021, grants were awarded to the following organizations:
