Michael K. Lauf, M.B.A.

Mr. Lauf has served since December of 2010 as President and Chief Executive Officer of Cape Cod Healthcare, a regional health system with more than 450 physicians and 4,600 employees. The system is comprised of two-acute care hospitals, the largest home health services agency on the Cape (VNA), a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, an assisted living facility and numerous health programs.

Recognized twice in recent years by Modern Healthcare magazine as one of the nation’s “rising stars” in health care administration, Mr. Lauf served as the Cape Cod Healthcare system’s Chief Operating Officer from 2008-2010. He was promoted to President of Cape Cod Hospital and Falmouth Hospital in 2010, before being appointed to his current position as President and CEO of the system.

During his tenure, CCHC has made great strides in operational and financial performance, while also developing a strong strategy focused on quality, service, access, and process improvement.

Prior to joining CCHC, Mr. Lauf served as Chief Operating Officer of Bristol Medical Center, a 348-bed hospital in Bristol, Tennessee, part of the Wellmont Healthcare System. At Bristol, Mr. Lauf developed a hospital performance scorecard and cultivated service improvement goals among employees that have resulted in dramatically higher patient and physician satisfaction scores.

From 1999 to 2006, he held a variety of positions for Conemaugh Health System in Pennsylvania, including President and CEO of one of Conemaugh’s hospitals, Miners Medical Center. From 1994 to 1999, he worked on the staff of U.S. Representative John P. Murtha, most recently as Rep. Murtha’s Director of Community and Economic Development.

Mr. Lauf earned his MBA from Saint Francis University in Pennsylvania and his BA from the University of Pittsburgh.

He practiced at Women and Infants Hospital and was Medical Director of the Women and Infants Hospital PHO.

    After leaving private practice in 1998, Donald went to work on the managed care side of medicine for CareAdvantage, Inc. He worked as a medical director and in a consulting capacity for their clients, including Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island from 1998 to 2002, when he went to work for Wellmont.

    Donald’s undergraduate and medical degrees are from The George Washington University, and he did his residency at Brown University.

    Arthur Mombourquette is Cape Cod Healthcare’s new Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Arthur is responsible for day-to-day operations at Cape Cod Hospital and at Cape Cod Healthcare’s five outpatient centers, as well as C-Lab.

    Arthur brings over 25 years experience developing, organizing and administering multiple support service functions in the healthcare industry to Cape Cod Healthcare.

    Since 1989, Arthur has served in a number of management roles at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. From 1999 to now, he has served as Vice President of Support Services, with administrative responsibility for Real Estate and Facilities, Environmental Services, Environmental Affairs, Food Services, Materials Management, Patient Transport, Linen, Mail Room/Audio-visual, Engineering and Maintenance, Security, Parking, Grounds, and Community Relations.

    Prior to joining Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Arthur worked at New England Deaconess Hospital for seven years in the 1980s. Arthur has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Care Administration from Emmanuel College in Boston.

    Jim Butterick, MD, is Chief Medical Officer for Falmouth Hospital. Dr. Butterick works with physicians and staff to help improve and develop quality and safety processes for all CCHC sites. He leads the continuous quality and safety improvement culture by creating new initiatives, while refining and advancing the many current and successful endeavors around quality outcomes, pay for performance, patient and employee safety, and patient satisfaction.

    Dr. Butterick was Chief Medical Officer of Cape Cod Hospital from 2005-2011, and also held the title of Medical Director for Quality and Safety for CCHC. He graduated from University of Michigan Medical School and holds a Master’s Degree in Medical Management from Tulane University School of Public Health.

    Dr. Butterick is a member of the Board of Directors for both the Physician Health Service and Massachusetts Medical Society.

    Ms. Fallon has served as Cape Cod Healthcare’s Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer since February 2012. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing our Information Systems team and for the implementation and support of all clinical and financial applications. Ms. Fallon joined Cape Cod Healthcare in January 2011 as Executive Director of Information Systems. She was named Interim CIO in December 2011, before being appointed to the permanent position in February 2012.

    Ms. Fallon has more than 26 years of health care information technology experience. Prior to arriving at CCHC, she was Director of Clinical Applications in Information Systems at South Shore Hospital. Jeanne earned her undergraduate degree in Economics from Boston College and her Master’s degree in Health Administration from Simmons College.

    Mr. Jones, Esquire, has served as Cape Cod Healthcare’s in-house counsel and Compliance Officer since July 2001. He currently holds the position of Senior Vice President & Chief Legal Officer and, in that capacity, provides legal advice and services to Cape Cod Healthcare and all of its affiliates. Mr. Jones also oversees CCHC’s Risk Management program and many of CCHC’s insurance programs, including its self-insurance program for professional and general liability insurance coverage.

    Prior to joining CCHC, Mr. Jones was a partner in the health care group at the law firm of Choate, Hall & Stewart in Boston. While at Choate, he provided legal and strategic advice to a variety of health care clients in the Northeast and across the country, focusing his practice on reimbursement, regulatory enforcement and corporate compliance matters. Mr. Jones was a frequent lecturer on fraud and abuse topics and spoke regularly at national meetings of health care provider associations. He continues to speak at professional meetings now on a variety of legal and insurance topics.
    Mr. Jones earned his Law Degree from Boston College, and his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of New Mexico.

    Earlier in his career, he served as Vice President and Treasurer for Kane and Company Advertising, a full-service, family-owned advertising agency and political consulting firm.

    Mr. Kane has a proven record of strategic and tactical leadership in marketing communications, advertising and media, advancing the mission, vision and values of healthcare organizations. Over the course of his 32-year career, he has established a reputation for a high level of responsiveness, professional service and accountability.

    Mr. Kane earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from King College in Bristol, Tennessee, and his bachelor’s degree in communications and theater arts from Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana.

    Mr. Kleinbauer joined Cape Cod Healthcare in 2010 as President for Employed Physician Practices. Prior to joining CCHC, he was the Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the day-to-day operations, of a private medical group with 210 providers in upstate New York. During his time with this medical group, Mr. Kleinbauer assisted in the implementation of an electronic health record system, expansion of their practice network, development of a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) and diversification of the medical group’s business lines.

    Mr. Kleinbauer has a Masters in Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI); concentrating in Health Systems and Management Engineering; a Bachelors of Professional Studies in Health Management from SUNY; an Associates of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology from Broome Community College and a certificate in Nursing Arts.

Nearly 700 employees provide comprehensive home care and hospice services from Provincetown to Plymouth.
     
    Prior to joining the VNA, Ms. Kolb served in the same capacity for Genesis Health System Home Health Services in Davenport, Iowa, from 1983-2005, where she was responsible for a regional home health services agency which consisted of a certified home health and hospice agency, hospice house, home medical equipment retail and home care business, private duty agency, a long term care/infusion therapy and own use pharmacy and a travel health business.
     
    Ms. Kolb previously held various hospital nursing positions in the Emergency and Radiology departments. She earned her RN diploma from Presbyterian University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. She also earned her Bachelor’s Degree and her MHCA from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. She is certified as a Nurse Executive by the American Nurses Association.

    Jack has been Senior Vice President of Managed Care since October 2009. Prior to joining CCHC, Mr. Lipomi was Chief Operating Officer of Highlands Wellmont Health Network, a physician hospital organization that was a joint venture of the Wellmont Health System and Highland Physicians Inc., in Kingsport, TN.  He also served as the Vice President of Managed Care for Wellmont Health System.  Mr. Lipomi was also the Chief Executive Officer of the Penn Highlands Health Plan, a physician hospital organization affiliated with Conemaugh Health System in Johnstown, PA, and the Vice President of Managed Care for Conemaugh Health System.

    Mr. Lipomi graduated from the University of Nevada with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Metallurgical Engineering and obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration at the University of Pittsburgh.  He is certified in Managed Healthcare Administration from the University of Missouri.  Mr. Lipomi is a member of the American College of Managed Care Administrators and the American Association of Integrated Delivery Health Systems.

    Mr. Dykens’ professional affiliations include memberships in the American Institute of Public Accountants, Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and Massachusetts/Rhode Island Chapter of Healthcare Financial Management Association.  He has been a member of the Chatham, Massachusetts, School Committee for 13 years and chairman of that committee for the past eight years.  He is the Treasurer of the Duffy Community Health Center located in Hyannis and a member of the Board of Directors of the Cape and Islands United Way.

Mr. Oliveira holds an MBA Degree from University of Massachusetts.

    Dr. Mulroy has served as Chief Information Officer for Cape Cod Healthcare since 2010, and as Chief Quality and Safety Officer since 2013. A physician trained in primary care medicine, Dr. Mulroy also serves as a Hospitalist on the staff at Cape Cod Hospital.
    In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Mulroy holds two engineering degrees and has a varied professional background that has included such things as designing aircraft engines and researching Lyme disease.
    In his dual roles at CCHC, Dr. Mulroy helps to implement information technology systems that support physician practices. His work includes ensuring that all IT systems within Cape Cod Healthcare that relate to patient care are consistent with professional standards. He works directly with physicians on day-to-day management of quality and population health, and on creating recognized standards of care.

Prior to her time at Norwalk Hospital, she was Vice President of Corporate Citizenship at GE Capital in Stamford, Connecticut. Mary was Director of Institutional Advancement at the University of Connecticut, and Director of Development and Operations for the National Spinal Cord Injury Association in Allston, Massachusetts. She also served as Director of Development and Alumni Affairs at Vermont Law School.
