Plastic Surgery
Restoring function and form
Our board-certified plastic surgeons, operating at Falmouth Hospital and Cape Cod Hospital, perform a full range of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. The specialty encompasses elective cosmetic surgeries such as breast augmentation and stomach tucks, and reconstructive surgeries to correct birth defects or developmental abnormalities, to reconstruct after cancer surgeries, and to repair after accidents, burns, infections or disease.
“We’re taking advantage of endoscopy for some surgeries, including many hand surgeries, for problems such as carpel tunnel,” says Theodore Calianos II, M.D. “In addition, we use minimally invasive techniques for brow lift, face lift and breast augmentation.”
“Skin grafts and flaps are commonly done,” says Robert Yoo, MD. “We see a lot of dog bites, car accidents and power saw accidents and this surgery is a vast improvement for these severely injured patients.”
Skin cancer is also common on the Cape, and our plastic surgeons work on all types: melanoma, squamous, and basal, to remove the cancerous cells and restore appearance.
Patients receive board-certified care at every level. There are no residents, no intermediaries. Both hospitals have an outstanding multidisciplinary team; from anesthesiology to perioperative care to post-op nursing.
