RN Novice & Transition Program

Cape Cod Healthcare (CCHC) is pleased to offer our RN Novice & Transition Program designed to offer support and training to a Registered Nurse who does not have acute care RN experience. Start your profession in acute care nursing with CCHC now and advance your career with additional training opportunities for Operating Room, Emergency Nursing, Critical Care and our Birthing Center in the future.

Program Highlights:
This is a 12-Week Paid Training Program

  • Weeks 1 – 8: Day Shift (7A – 3P) Classroom training, patient care observation, Preceptorship on Nursing Unit Floors
  • Weeks 9 & 10: Evening shift (3P – 11P) Preceptorship
  • Weeks 11 & 12: Night shift (11P – 7A) Preceptorship
  • 32 hours a week

Acute care nursing support provided to you through a team of dedicated professionals

  • Clinical Educator, RN Preceptor, and Nurse Manager

15 openings in each 12-week program

  • Periodic program start dates throughout the year
  • Cape Cod Hospital is currently hiring for an April 2016 Novice program 
  • Hired as a temporary employee of either Cape Cod Hospital or Falmouth Hospital
  • Competitive pay, plus pay differentials for evenings, nights, and weekend commitments

Ideal candidate for this program

  • Recent graduate of BSN program 
  • RNs with BSN who do not possess acute care nursing experience
  • BSN with sub-acute experience
  • RNs who can work nights and weekends during program AND IF regular employment offered
  • RNs who can work med surg

Potential for regular employment after successful completion of program at Cape Cod Hospital or Falmouth Hospital
• Current regular opportunities are available for evenings and overnight

Next Steps:

  • Graduate with your BSN and pass your Board Exams
  • Apply to the RN Novice & Transition Program
  • Panel interviews with Nurse Managers are scheduled with selected candidates by the Human Resources Department
  • If selected for an interview, please provide 6 copies of your resume and transcripts from your BSN program
