New Women’s Health and Imaging Center Now Open at Falmouth Hospital
(Falmouth, July 28, 2011) Cape Cod Healthcare is pleased to announce that the new Women’s Health and Imaging Center has opened at Falmouth Hospital. The center provides Digital Mammography and Bone Density services for women, and outpatient Ultrasound services for both men and women. X-ray services are also available.
Included in the center – located in the Medical Office Building at the hospital – are two Digital Mammography rooms, three Ultrasound rooms, a General X-ray room and a Bone Density room. Five private patient changing rooms, a meeting room where patients can access the Internet and workrooms for Mammography and Ultrasound Technologists are also featured in the new Center.
All Technologists are registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed by the state of Massachusetts. The Ultrasound Technologists are registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Both the Mammography and Ultrasound departments are accredited by the American College of Radiology.
A planning team consisting of hospital administrators and the project contractor met with a user group of Mammography and Ultrasound Technologists, Radiologists and Breast Evaluation Department staff to come up with the final design of the center. The result is a peaceful and spacious area with a soothing décor and the latest in imaging equipment and technology.
“The new Center offers patients state-of-the-art imaging services in an easy-to-access facility that emphasizes quality patient care and convenience,” said Sue Wing, Chief Operating Officer, Falmouth Hospital. “We are pleased to offer such a wonderful facility to our patients and our staff.”
The Falmouth Hospital Women’s Health and Imaging Center is open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with evening hours until 8 p.m. on Thursdays. It is open every other Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. To schedule a Mammography or Ultrasound appointment, call 1-877-224-2009.
