CCHC to Conduct Health Needs Assessment Survey

(Hyannis, Dec. 1, 2011) Cape Cod Healthcare announced today that it will begin a telephone survey beginning Monday, December 5^th. This survey is an integral part of comprehensive Need Assessment Studies conducted once every three years by Cape Cod Hospital and Falmouth Hospital. Results of this survey will be combined with input from expert focus groups and existing federal, state and local health data.  The findings of the study will drive the Cape Cod Hospital and Falmouth Hospital Community Benefits planning and program implementation for fiscal years 2013 – 2015.

The telephone survey will be conducted by an independent research firm.  Homes will be selected randomly across the Cape and asked to provide input to indentifying the unmet health needs of Barnstable County residents. The confidential telephone surveys will utilize standardized questions and take 10- 12 minutes. You may receive a call, and your willingness to participate will support the hospitals and other community agencies in the development of vital programs and services which will advance the promotion of health.

The needs assessment process ensures that hospitals are responsive to their communities by understanding and acting to satisfy the identified needs.   A report outlining areas of health needs will be published on CCHC’s website in the late spring of 2012.
