Cape Cod Healthcare, Local Physicians Introduce Regional Cancer Network
Cape Cod Healthcare is pleased to announce that a strong, vibrant group of oncology specialists, primary care physicians, trained nurses and other healthcare professionals and entities have now joined forces to create Cape Cod Healthcare’s Regional Cancer Network.
The Regional Cancer Network expands on Cape Cod Healthcare’s excellent track record of caring for cancer patients by offering patients more of a multi-disciplinary, system-wide, team approach to cancer care and treatment. This approach brings oncology resources throughout the Cape Cod Healthcare system into one unified force in the fight against cancer.
“It’s basically an example of the sum being greater than the parts,” said Michael Lauf, Cape Cod Healthcare’s President and CEO. “The Regional Cancer Network brings to bear the resources of the entire healthcare system – including the skills and technology found in the most advanced cancer institutions in the nation – and makes them available right here on the Cape.”
Within the Regional Cancer Network, trained specialists in medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgery, radiology, pathology, nursing, and social work come together as a team to provide the most efficient methods to treat cancer based on the patient’s individual needs.
The Regional Cancer Network includes:
- All of Cape Cod’s oncology physicians and practices
- A network of talented, caring primary care physicians
- The Davenport-Mugar Cancer Center at Cape Cod Hospital
- Cuda Women’s Health and Imaging Center
- The Clark Cancer Center at Falmouth Hospital
- Seifer Women’s Health and Imaging Center at Falmouth Hospital
