Cape Cod Healthcare Closes Outpatient Centers, Rehab Services, C-Lab and Physician Practices

 (Hyannis, October 29, 2012) – Cape Cod Healthcare will close all outpatient centers, C-Lab locations, rehabilitation services and Medical Affiliates of Cape Cod physician practices as of 1 p.m. today, in anticipation of the intensifying storm. All five outpatient centers: Stoneman Outpatient Center in Sandwich, Rogers Outpatient Center in Mashpee, Bourne Health Center, Wilkens Outpatient Medical Complex in Hyannis, including Cuda Women’s Health Center; and Fontaine Medical Center in Harwich will be closed. Patient safety and well-being remains our top priority.

Cape Cod Hospital and Falmouth Hospital are open and will remain open for the duration of the storm. All departments and units are fully staffed and have all resources needed to maintain full service to our patients.

CCHC has a standard incident command structure, which has been activated. The structure involves setting up a central command center which serves as a communications, resources and support hub for the entire system throughout the emergency event. An aspect of the incident command structure includes making sure we have extra clinical staff on hand, as well as several days worth of supplies, generator fuel, food and water, should regular delivery services be disrupted. Those steps were taken last week, when we received reports of the impending storm, so all facilities are well-prepared for the storm.

Our incident command team is working closely with local, county and state emergency management officials, and will continue to monitor the storm throughout the duration.
