14th Annual Emergency Care Conference March 16
(Falmouth, February 4, 2011) Falmouth Hospital’s Emergency Department will hold its 14th Annual Emergency Care Conference on March 16, from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Coonamessett Inn in Falmouth.
Headlining the event is Pediatrician David Nelson, MD, who has been invited back by popular demand. Dr. Nelson is Director of Pediatric Education and Emergency Services at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He will speak on two topics: “Emergencies: Nervous Parent or Real Thing?” and “Pediatric Resuscitation: What’s New?”
Other speakers at the conference include:
- Jonathan Gates, MD, Medical Director of the Trauma Program at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, who will discuss “Weapons-Related Injuries.”
- Jean Proehl, RN, MS, author of Emergency Procedures, whose specialty is competency in the medical field and measuring proficiency.
- Sgt. Stephen Roche, a member of the Gang Division of the Worcester Police Department, who will speak on “Gang Awareness.”
- Julia Fox Garrison, former stroke patient and author of Don’t Leave Me This Way or When I Get Back on My Feet You’ll Be Sorry, who brings unique knowledge and shares it in a humorous way.
