What are you grateful for?

Was it the compassion of a nurse when your child or loved one was hurt and scared in the emergency department? Or the life- saving skill of a surgeon? Maybe it was the words of encouragement and understanding from a caregiver on your floor? Or even a simple smile from the person who delivered your meal or brought you an extra blanket in the middle of the night?

We all have moments that we are grateful for and though we may not remember exactly what someone did or said, chances are we will remember how they made us feel.

These are six of our patients who, when asked what they were grateful for, responded by sharing a memorable moment of compassion they received from a Cape Cod Healthcare employee. For each of them, an important part of their gratitude was expressing their appreciation to the special person or caregiver by making a gift in their honor to Cape Cod Healthcare’s givingTHANKS program.
