Putting Our Heads Together: A Discussion About Neurological Illnesses in Women

Please join Cape Cod Healthcare at the Wequassett Resort & Golf Club as they host a Women's Health Initiative Educational Forum and Luncheon featuring special guest presenters, Susannah Cahalan and Cape Cod Healthcare Neurologist, Dr. Karen Lynch.

Susannah Cahalan is the New York Times bestselling author of Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness. Brain on Fire, chronicles her unique and horrifying experience as a patient suffering from an undiagnosed autoimmune disease in which her body was attacking her brain. Dr. Souhel Najjar, a neurologist with Staten Island University Hospital, was the physician who finally joined the team and diagnosed her with autoimmune encephalitis, a rare, but easily treatable disorder, which can present with psychiatric symptoms.

Dr. Karen Lynch received her medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dublin, Ireland. She completed her residency in neurology at Tufts Medical Center/Lahey Clinic/St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston where she served as Chief Resident. Her fellowship was completed in Neuromuscular medicine at Brigham and Women’s/Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Lynch is board certified in Neurology and Neuromuscular Medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Cummaquid Golf Club Annual Charity Event

Celebrate 12 years with Cummaquid Golf Club on Monday, September 21, 2015 at their annual golf tournament.

Proceeds from this year's charity event will directly benefit Cape Cod Healthcare's Regional Cancer Network. Guests will also have the opportunity to tour the new clubhouse. This two-story, 14,200 square foot clubhouse features a new dining room and lounge.
