Employee Giving at Cape Cod Healthcare

I matter

Each member of the Cape Cod Healthcare (CCHC) family – employees, volunteers and donors – plays a role in the current and future success of our health system. By investing in CCHC with a philanthropic gift, you can make an even greater impact.

Giving is voluntary, therefore the decision is yours to make. However, each donation from a member of the CCHC family sends a very strong message to others throughout our health system, as well as our community, about our willingness to invest in ourselves.

It all adds up

The aggregate impact of employee giving is significant. If every Cape Cod Healthcare employee gave $1 per pay period, upwards of $125,000 would be raised annually. The size of the gift is not important; it is the gift itself that matters. To join your fellow colleagues in the Employee Giving program please fill out the enrollment form today.

Why Employees Give

“I donate to the place that gives me work and provides me with valuable service. I want Falmouth Hospital to continue to offer the services we do and remain in the town where I live.”

-Cate Dolen, Program Manager, Falmouth Hospital

“I am so grateful that we have such an exceptional hospital system so close to home to care for me and my family, it inspires me to give to honor those who provide our care.”

-Deb Lauder, Executive Assistant for Michael K. Lauf, President and CEO

“Why not give back to the organization that has helped me grow and provide a good life for my family and always ensures they meet the needs of the residents of Cape Cod.

- Cecilia Phelan-Stiles, MA, CMI

“I give because this organization has supported my family, the birth of 3 children, put 2 of the 3 through college (the 3rd is only 11!) cares for my 102 year old father and seen the birth of my first grandchild…so my gratitude extends beyond what CCHC does for the health of our community…for me it’s personal gratitude…"

-John Gugliotta, Business Director, Perioperative Services

“I support Cape Cod Healthcare, specifically the VNA of Cape Cod Senior Services, because I strongly believe in the mission and its services… I am proud to be part of the organization with such longevity, providing home health and hospice services to all ages in the community."

- Colette Silverman, VNA Chief Administrative Officer, CCHC Director of Quality

“I am grateful for the opportunity to go back to school and get my bachelor’s degree, and to raise my family. I’ve made a lot of friends from the hospital and learned a lot of life lessons and I hope I’ve made a difference. I think more importantly are the lessons and moments I have been privileged to be a part of through our patients.”

- Abigail Adams, Nurse Manager, Falmouth Hospital

“I have chosen to give to Cape Cod Healthcare because I am a very proud employee of the system. My family and my husband’s family have had expert care and compassion here for over 85 years. Both my parents and my husband’s parents were born at Cape Cod Hospital. I was fortunate to volunteer at Cape Cod Hospital when I was in high school, an experience that paved the way for my career choice in health care.”

- Lynn Shields, Director of Clinical Research & Compliance, CCHC

“I share because CCH pays my salary and supports my family. Why not give back to my job which ultimately benefits me? I have been very blessed here for the past almost 15 years. Also, it is a tax write off and it’s my way of saying thanks. I have worked at other hospitals over my career and this hospital has the best benefits of all.”

- Debra Greene, Radiology Technician, Cape Cod Hospital

Frequently Asked Questions

How much should I give?

Giving is personal and only you can determine what the right amount is for you.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes. An outright gift of cash, vacation time or donations made through payroll deduction, are all deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

When will the payroll deduction begin?

Payroll deduction is available and encouraged for all employees. Payments will begin to be deducted within 30 days of receiving your signed gift agreement. Arrangements can be made if you need to begin your pledge payments at a different time.

If I leave CCHC, do I have to fulfill my pledge?

Your pledge is not a legally binding contract. It is simply a commitment made by you to support CCHC’s current fundraising initiative. If you leave CCHC and elect not to fulfill your commitment, no attempt will be made to deduct the remaining balance from your final paycheck.

If my circumstances change, can I alter my pledge?

Everyone’s life can change and so do financial circumstances. Should that happen, please contact the CCHC Foundation at 508/862-5600 and we will adjust your pledge accordingly. For accounting purposes, all changes must be made in writing.

Who will know if I made a gift?

Confidentiality is very important to us. Only the staff at the CCHC Foundation and Payroll Department (if you choose to use payroll deduction or donate vacation time) will know what you have given.
