• Summary:

  5 week course providing information about all aspects of childbirth. This class prepares women and their birth partner for the normal childbirth process and minimizes the need for medical intervention.
  Topics include: third-trimester pregnancy changes, the birth process, labor, delivery, labor support, variations of labor and going home. We teach all options for childbirth using exercise, body awareness, Lamaze breathing and relaxation techniques. Couples learn what to expect during each phase of childbirth and how to work together. Lectures, discussion, charts and audiovisual equipment are used to present this material.
