A Holiday to Remember
David Easa won’t easily forget Thanksgiving of 2004. While his family celebrated the holiday, David was hobbling around with a cane. The day before, Timothy Kinkead, MD, board-certified orthopedic surgeon on staff at Cape Cod Hospital, had arthroscopically repaired a meniscus tear in the karate enthusiast’s left knee.
“My meniscus had just worn out over time and it finally got to the point where I wasn’t able to do the things I enjoyed,” David says. “I called my doctor and he referred me to Dr. Kinkead, who recommended the arthroscopic surgery.”
Within hours of the procedure, David was at home enjoying the holiday with his family. Now, he’s able to participate in Dragon Crest, the live-action role-playing game he enjoys.
“I’ve got full stability and full flexibility back in my knee now,” David says. “It’s almost as good as it’s ever been.”
