Helping a Hall of Famer Heal

Every day, therapists with the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Cape Cod have the privilege of caring for patients from all walks of life—including retirees, businesspeople, housewives—and even Hall of Fame hockey players. The latter was true recently as hockey legend Bobby Orr was referred to the VNA by his physician after having knee replacement surgery.

“My rehabilitation has been wonderful,” says Bobby. “The therapists are prompt and professional, and the quality of service is outstanding. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.”

The three-time National Hockey League MVP, who was voted the number two player of all time in a poll conducted by The Hockey News, adds that residents of the Cape are fortunate to have such high-quality rehabilitative care available so close to home.

“Of course, I hope my health is such that I don’t have to see them anymore after my rehabilitation is complete,” Bobby says. “However, if I ever do have to have home care in the future, I wouldn’t hesitate to use the VNA.”
