Included here are answers to frequently asked questions about career opportunities at Cape Cod Healthcare and the job application process.

Q: How do I apply for a position at Cape Cod Healthcare?
All open positions at Cape Cod Healthcare are posted on our web site and applicants are strongly encouraged to apply online. To initiate an online application, click on the Employment Opportunities section of the web site and look for open positions that interest you.  For each job listing, you’ll see a box that reads “click here to apply online.” If you’re a first time user of our web site, you’ll be asked to create a user ID and password, which you can use to access job listings and apply for other opportunities in the future. 

Q: Can I attach a resume and cover letter to my application?
Yes you can, and we encourage you to do so! The more information you give us about your skills and experience, the better we’ll be able to assess your qualifications for an open position.

Q: I don’t have a computer.  How can I apply for positions online?
You are welcome to come to the Human Resources offices at Cape Cod or Falmouth Hospital where computer stations are available. (The HR office at Cape Cod Hospital is located at 60 Park Street, two blocks away from the hospital. At Falmouth, the HR office is on the second floor of the hospital.) Most public libraries have free online access as well as Massachusetts Department of Employment and Training offices throughout the state.

Q: What should I do if I’m having difficulty submitting my application online?
Feel free to call Human Resources at 508-862-5700 for assistance, or stop by in person at either of our offices where our staff will be happy to help you. If you are applying for a position at the VNA of Cape Cod, please call 508-957-7400.

Q: Can I apply for more than one job?
Yes, you can apply for as many positions you like, but please be sure to review the job qualifications carefully to make sure you meet the requirements for each position. 

Q: Some positions are listed as “per diem.”  What does this mean?
Literally translated it means “per day.” Per diem schedules offer employees the opportunity to work for Cape Cod Healthcare without the commitment of a full or part-time schedule.  Per diem employees are scheduled on an as-needed basis and are not eligible to receive benefits.

Q: Can I submit a resume for general consideration?
For the best results, we strongly advise applicants to submit applications online for specific openings listed on our web site. Due to the volume of open positions we have and the number of applications we receive, unsolicited resumes or materials requesting general consideration for any position are harder to match to specific opportunities and are less likely to receive priority in the application review process.

Q: When can I expect to hear back regarding my application?
When you apply online, you will receive an auto reply email to confirm receipt of your application.  Based on priority and volume, time frames will vary by position.  If your qualifications meet our needs, we will contact you regarding the position. Because of the large volume of applications we receive, we are only able to follow up with candidates who best match the requirements for the position.

Q: I have been called for an interview.  How should I dress for my interview?  Is there anything specific I should bring with me?
Cape Cod Healthcare prides itself on being professional organization. Please dress professionally for your interview. You are welcome to bring extra copies of your resume, contact information for your professional references, and/or samples of your work or accomplishments, depending the nature of position.

Q: How can I find out what the salary is for an open position?
Cape Cod Healthcare offers competitive compensation and benefits. Salary is determined based on the range for the position and depends on the skills and experience of the individual. If you meet the requirements of the position, you will be contacted and salary can be discussed at this time.
