At Cape Cod Healthcare, we offer a competitive, valuable array of benefits formulated to support you and your family’s health and financial needs and help in balancing your work and personal lives.

Medical

Medical plan benefits are available to you upon hire as a regular employee who meets the minimum work schedule requirements. Eligible employees may choose individual, individual plus one or family coverage. Your contributions are made on a pre-tax basis. There are three levels of medical coverage available to you in the Cape Cod Healthcare plan:   

  • Tier 1: Designated Provider Organization (DPO) – most inpatient and outpatient services rendered in the DPO require no copays, deductibles or coinsurance
  • Tier 2: In-Network Coverage – $25 office visit copay; moderate deductible and coinsurance apply
  • Tier 3: Out-of-Network Coverage – all services subject to deductible  and coinsurance

Dental

Cape Cod Healthcare’s dental plan covers a full range of services. The plan generally pays 100% of preventive and diagnostic care expenses. Basic treatment (fillings, extractions in dental office and root canals), major treatment (crowns, bridges and dentures) and orthodontia are covered expenses under the plan. Upon hire, dental benefits are available to you and your family as a regular employee who meets the minimum work schedule requirements. Employee contributions are made on a pre-tax basis.

Group Disability Insurance

The disability plan helps pay living expenses when you become disabled and cannot work. Active regular employees who meet the minimum employment period and work schedule requirements are eligible to participate. Cape Cod Healthcare provides a group disability plan with a 60% benefit subject to monthly maximums at no cost to you.

Life AD&D Insurance

Cape Cod Healthcare’s group life insurance benefits are offered at no cost. These benefits assist you in providing for your family’s future in the event of your death. Active regular employees who meet any minimum employment period and the work schedule requirements are eligible for the basic and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance plan.

The basic life insurance policy benefit amount depends upon your employee group. In addition to basic life insurance Cape Cod Healthcare offers (AD&D) insurance to eligible regular employees. Beneficiaries of eligible employees who die in an accident covered by AD&D insurance receive a benefit amount equivalent to the basic life insurance benefit. AD&D insurance also pays benefits if you are seriously injured in an accident, conditions and exclusions apply.

HIV Occupational Injury Insurance

HIV occupational injury insurance is provided to regular employees at no cost. Your regular work schedule determines your eligible benefit. Employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week are offered benefit coverage of $25,000. Employees scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are offered benefit coverage of $50,000.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Our flexible spending accounts (FSA) allow you to use tax-free dollars to pay for most medical, dental and vision expenses not covered by insurance and for your dependent care expenses including day care, pre-school and after-school programs. Regular employees scheduled to work at least 16 hours per week are eligible to contribute to an FSA. The minimum annual amount you can contribute to health care and dependent care accounts is $150. The maximum annual amount for health care flexible spending account ranges from $2,500 (Cape Cod Hospital MNA employees) up to $5,000 for other CCHC covered employees. The maximum annual amount that you can contribute to a dependent care account is $5,000.

403(b) Retirement Plan

Cape Cod Healthcare provides a 403(b) Plan to assist employees in saving for retirement. The plan allows you to save from 1% to 100% of your pay for retirement (certain limits set by the IRS may apply). You can lower your current taxes by making pre-tax contributions to the plan or you may choose to defer contributions on an after-tax (Roth) basis. There are a number of investment options including asset allocation model funds and individual professionally managed mutual funds. In addition to these benefits, the plan provides fully vested employer non-discretionary (core) and matching funds to participants who meet plan service eligibility requirements. Employer core contributions are 2% of eligible participant compensation. The employer matching contribution consists of a 50% match on eligible participant pre-tax or Roth deferrals up to 4% of compensation.

Employee Assistance Plan

All employees are eligible to participate in Cape Cod Healthcare’s Employee Assistance Plan (EAP). This plan offers confidential, professional assessment and referral services and short-term counseling including up to 3 counseling sessions to help employees work through personal problems. EAP services are provided at no cost and include short-term counseling, budget and debt counseling, new parent transition program and legal services.

Additional Voluntary Insurance Benefits

There are a number of additional voluntary benefits available to employees. These benefits typically are offered through individual policies and policy coverage and may be paid through convenient payroll deduction. Voluntary benefit options include:

  • Auto and property insurance
  • Supplemental life insurance
  • Supplemental short-term disability insurance
  • Long-term care insurance
  • Cancer insurance
  • Accident insurance
  • Supplemental HIV insurance

Holidays

There are 10 named paid holidays and additional floating holiday time or personal days may be available.

Vacation Time

Cape Cod Healthcare provides competitive paid vacation benefits to regular employees. Vacation time is accrued and the amount of vacation that regular employees earn is based upon your employee group and your employment status (full-time or part-time).

Sick Time

Eligible regular employees earn sick time accruing one day per month worked (up to 12 days in a year). Part-time regular employee sick time is pro-rated based on schedule.

Tuition Reimbursement

Based upon your employee group, tuition reimbursement benefits are available to regular employees who meet minimum work schedule requirements after six months of continuous employment. In general, eligible employees may qualify for tuition reimbursement funds up to $1,000 - $1,500 per academic year.
