Urology is a medical specialty that deals with diseases of the male and female urinary tracts and the male reproductive organs. At Cape Cod Healthcare, you’ll find the same level of expertise and range of procedures found in Boston hospitals with the distinct advantages of care close to home and your support system.
Urologic Conditions We Treat
Our board-certified physicians diagnose and treat a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions, including:
Advanced Technology for Optimal Results
Many urologic procedures are done using less invasive approaches or techniques that eliminate the need for surgery. For kidney stones, our doctors perform extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, using shock waves to pulverize the kidney stone and break it into tiny sand-like particles that pass with urine.
Our emphasis on minimally invasive procedures is augmented by our da Vinci® Robotic Surgery System. Urologic procedures using robotic surgery include:
- Nephrectomy and partial nephrectomy
- Radical cystectomy
- Ureteral reimplantation
- Vaso vasectomy (vasectomy reversal)
We collaborate with experts within Cape Cod Healthcare, such as our kidney specialists, and at affiliated institutions, including Dana-Farber. Read more about our exceptional care for urologic cancers through our Regional Cancer Network.
