Falmouth Hospital Sponsors Emergency Medicine Conference

The Falmouth Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine is pleased to present an Emergency Care Conference on Wednesday, March 11, at the Coonamessett Inn in Falmouth. The conference is designed to provide state-of-the-art information and insights into the treatment of pediatric patients and patients suffering from altitude sickness, as well as a number of progressive emergency medicine topics and lessons learned from the Boston Marathon bombings.

The conference is targeted at professional staff caring for patients, including physicians, physician assistants, nurses, EMTs, EMT-Ps, pharmacists, nurse practitioners and other allied health personnel. Speakers at the conference include:

  • David Nelson, MD, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, NV, who will speak about “Pediatric Medical Emergencies”
  • David Savage, PA-C, Fellow of the Wilderness Medical Society and Physician Assistant at Falmouth Hospital, whose talk is entitled, “Altitude Sickness”
  • Chris Troyanos, ATC, President and Founder of Sports Medicine Consultants in Norfolk, MA, whose talk is entitled “The Boston Marathon Bombings: Lessons Learned Pre- and Post- April 13, 2013
  • Robert Davis, MD, Director of Emergency Medicine at Falmouth Hospital, who will discuss “Tricks of the Trade.”

Registration fees for the conference are $85 for EMT, EMT-P and techs; $95 for nurses; and $160 for physicians and physician assistants. A continental breakfast, lunch and lecture materials are included in the conference fee. Nursing contact hours will be awarded. Registration deadline is March 8, 2015.
