Cape Cod Hospital Earns Becker’s Top 100 Honor

July 2013

Cape Cod Healthcare is pleased to announce that for the second consecutive year, Cape Cod Hospital has been named one of America's 100 Great Community Hospitals according to a study by Becker's Hospital Review. To compile this list, the Becker's Hospital Review editorial team analyzed independent information, recognition and rankings from a variety of industry sources, including iVantage Health Analytics, Truven Health Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters), Healthgrades and the Joint Commission.

"We're pleased to have received this designation, which is based on our quality of care and service to our community," said Michael Lauf, President and CEO of Cape Cod Healthcare, parent company of Cape Cod Hospital. "This honor - which we have received for the second consecutive year - shows that we are successfully and consistently achieving top results in patient satisfaction and care."

The Becker's award comes on the heels of the announcement in April that Cape Cod Healthcare was named one of the Top 15 Health Systems in the country by Truven Health Analytics.

Cape Cod Hospital is one of just three Massachusetts hospitals on the Becker's Top 100 Community Hospitals list. Becker's Hospital Review features up-to-date business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems. Becker's Hospital Review reaches approximately 18,500 people, primarily acute-care hospital CEOs and CFOs.

"Community hospitals play an integral role in many communities across America,"said Becker's Editor In Chief Lindsey Dunn. "They are critical to preserving access to medical care close to home and, often, are the largest employers in the areas they serve. The hospitals named to the list were recognized for their contributions to preserving access to high-quality care for millions of Americans who do not reside near large, tertiary care centers."
