CCH Construction Work Begins Monday, May 7

May 2012

Construction work will begin May 7 on the front of Cape Cod Hospital. An interior hallway is being built which will connect the Davenport-Mugar Cancer Center and O'Keeffe Surgical Pavilion to the Main Lobby and the rest of the hospital, enabling patients and visitors to get from one area to the other without having to go outside. Jersey barriers will go up on Monday, May 7, along the front of the building. Patients, visitors, doctors and employees will be impacted as parking will be restricted and traffic patterns will be different while the work is being done.

Cape Cod Hospital offers free valet parking at three key drop-off points - in front of the Davenport-Mugar Cancer Center, the front sidewalk next to the Emergency Center, and the Bayview Street entrance to the Mugar Building. The number of available valets will be increased during construction.  Patients as well as visitors are encouraged to use the valet service and the Mugar Building entrance to avoid the construction area. Anyone with questions or needing more information can call toll free 1-877-227-3263.

The project will proceed in three phases. From May 7 to July 27, the construction barricades will be up in the front parking lot while the alterations to the front of the hospital building are being made. From Aug. 3 to Sept. 3, only pedestrian traffic will be rerouted in front of the hospital as the barricades are pulled back and the vehicular traffic can return to normal. The final phase will involve the interior finishes to the project which will be completed by October 8.
