Our Commitment of Financial Support
Cape Cod Healthcare is dedicated to providing financial support to address the substance use disorder crisis. Among our financial contributions are:
- CCHC will distribute $2.5 million in grants through 2019 to support key community programs addressing substance use intervention, treatment, education and prevention efforts.
In 2017, $822,000 was awarded to Gosnold on Cape Cod, Duffy health Center and Community Health Center of Cape Cod. An additional $250,000 is planned for Outer Cape Health Services for appropriate programming on the Lower and Outer Cape.
The remaining $1.5 million is established in a fund at the Cape Cod Foundation for distribution in 2018 and 2019.
- CCHC-provided funding to support the Overdose Prevention Program, a joint effort by Gosnold of Cape Cod and 14 Cape police departments. This program supports people who received a Narcan administration. A counselor, accompanied by a police officer, makes home visits to individuals and their famili8es to provide education on treatment and prevention resources.
- CCHC sought and received a SAMSA/DPH grant to develop a program for new mothers with substance use disorder issues, which benefits their current and future children. CCHC will provide project management for The Moms-Do-Care program, a three-year project providing counseling and recovery support.
